The Value of Friends

As we go through this complicated dance, this dance of Life, we are bombarded with changes, continuous stream of different emotions, happiness, sadness; the ups and downs of our existence are forever in flux. But in this chaos we are enveloped in from birth to death there are a few things that we can count on the solidarity of. One of these things is friendship. Friendship is the pillar of strength that we all need, no matter how strong you are.

Friendship is talking about a good book or enjoying a sports game together. It's about being a good listener or blazing the trails on a bike. We need friendship as much as we need air to breathe. People may say they are strong, they do not need friendship or companionship, but they are wrong. Everyone needs a friend. Everyone.

Friendship is a broad term. Friendship is the base of the bond you have with your lover, your amour. Friendship is also what you have with your pets. Friendship is the connection you make with your... for lack of better terms... friends. You know you can rely on them, you know you can trust them, and you know they are there to set you right when you have gone astray. They are the lodestone to you finding yourself again when you have gotten turned around in this complicated world we live in. They are the proverbial lighthouse when you are lost in the stormy seas of life. It keeps us sane when everything else is driving us to insanity.

Having a friend or friends truly makes a positive difference in your life.
